Bug#468437: wodim: Fail to get drive speed from CD/R
Yesterday, I tried to burn a CD, but it can not work, and I checked device manager, the CD and DVD ROMs both had a warning signing on it. I opened the properties of the CD- ROM. In the device status said Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete

What's wrong with my IDE CD-ROM with 2.5.42-ac1?

I installed it, using the secondary input on the cable that is currently connected to the existing CD/DVD-ROM. (I didn't remove the existing CD/DVD-ROM) On booting up the machine,

If you have anoying message about new device installed then remove component with newdev.dll from your project.
